Przełamek

A work in progress.

Przełamek is a Polish word which comes from przełamac, meaning to break through.

Brandy Alexander. Scribble.

Though I'd like to be the girl for him

And cross the sea and land for him

On milky skin my tongue is sand until

The ever distant band begins to play

He's my Brandy Alexander

Always gets me into trouble

But that's another matter

Brandy Alexander

-Feist 'Brandy Alexander'

It's been stuck in my head today.

I've finally ditched my stockings.

Spring has truely sprung.

There are open-air markets, florists and everywhere smells like flowers.

I love France in the spring.

1950s Fashion.

I love vintage fashion. I love fashion history and have since I was a kid. I love the defined lines and classicly stylish cuts of the 1950s. It's inspiring...

Bears

There is no story for this one. It's just cute. I could make one up. Perhaps I will later.
It's late here.
Perhaps I should sleep.
bonne nuit.

City

I love Warsaw. I never did when I was younger but now I really love it. I love the old town. I love it's story. I just really love Warsaw, and all it stands for. (Perhaps fitting after the crash that took place on Saturday). But here it is, my memories of Warsaw...

Union Soldier

One night I had a dream about this soldier. I thought I should draw him. I have my own ideas about war, which I'm not going to share here (I don't have the time or the energy to express them all), but also, I don't want my opinions to taint this piece.
I want it to be whatever you want it to be.
C'est tout.

Oldie, but a goodie

Tea of Life, 2009
I found this while going through a long-forgotten sketch book. I love it. I did it for an exhibition about 'tea' which I never ended up applying for, but I really like, and glad to have found it again.
The 'tree of life' motif is both a play on words between tree and tea, and also the idea that the deepest and most life-changing stories can be exchanged over a cup of tea. Or, at least, thats what I was going for.

Greco-Roman Goodness (work in progress)

I have, for a long time, been fascinated by the ancient world. I took both Studies of Ancient Greek Art and Studies of Ancient Roman Art while studying at Concordia. I recently came up with this, but I'm not happy with it yet. Still a work in progress...

Untitled

The roots go deeper than any tree could poke into the sky

I've had something like this in my sketchbooks for almost a year, and it never really panned out into a major piece until I got to Lyon. It's definately my favourite...

(detail)

I'm quite proud of myself...
